Welcome to 2020 School Year.

                        Talofa, Kia Ora and Welcome
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
It is a privilege for me to work with your family and become part of your child’s learning journey.
During the year I hope to foster the children with a real love of learning. I also want to create many opportunities for them to bring their interests and ideas into the class.
Here is what a typical daily time table looks like:  roll call, fitness, news, writing, reading, morning tea, maths, handwriting, spelling, language, lunch time.
Afternoons will be a mix of handwriting, art and craft, topic, P.E and assemblies.
Home Learning: In Year 3 the main home learning is reading for 10-15 minutes. We will also be preparing maths focusing on basic facts and problems solving skills.
Reading Logs: Year 3 children usually have a book for two nights. Reading the book twice helps the children become more familiar with new words and helps them get a chance to read with expression.
Please fill in their reading log and sign it daily.
Parent Help : I am always looking for parents to listen to children read for half an hour in the mornings.  We would welcome parent support.
Please feel free to talk with me in the mornings or email me if you wish. Visit our class blog to see photos of events and learning during the year.
