Cook Island Language Week 30th July-------3rd August.

Last week was Cook Island Language Week. Room 20 learned some Cook Island dance, basic greetings and words and also a song called Kua Hiti Te Marama. The children enjoyed it and we looked at different Ais (the headbands)
Melnina has tried to play the song using the Cook Island ukulele.

Mariam enjoyed learning about the cook Island greetings.

Here we are. Getting organised to host the School Assembly to celebrate the Cook Island Maori Language Week.
The girls practised their singing.

The Cook Island ukulele and the coconut shells on display.

Ibrahim and Melnina were the speakers for our Assembly. Deep thinkers and great role models of Room 20.
